What is the R Ratio value entered in the Cyclic Stresses window used for?

0

This R Ratio value is the ratio of Kmin/Kmax. It is only used for calculating the fatigue threshold for the NASGRO and Simple Power Law Fatigue Growth curves from the properties in the Materials Database. A lower fatigue threshold value is more conservative than a higher one. If you are not using this database to generate the Fatigue Growth curves, you do not have to enter a value in the R Ratio field.
