What did Peter the Great accomplish?
He was a Russian czar, the first, I think. He wanted to enter good relations with the rest of Europe but their was a great cultural divide so he tried his best at westernizing Russia (i.e. making Russian men cut their beards, which they didn’t want to do because beards were considered to be a sign of a Christian). He also made an attempt to build a navy. He also built St. Petersburg, which was the first port to sea the Russians had (the first on the Baltic Sea anyway). Hope that helps.
