Who is Ayn Rand?
Ayn Rand is a philosopher. Her philosophy is that of objectivism. It can be summarized quite simply as thus: Do what actions you would, so long as you can find pleasure out of them. Of particular interest is her direct opposition to Kant– who states that you should do actions for duty’s sake alone. Rand would say that you should do actions for your own pleasure alone, all else being immoral and wrong. Kant, however, would call this immoral.
