How are Greyhounds with children?

0

Children are something new for a Greyhound. Living the life of a racer, Greyhounds are not around children. This does not mean that they can not get along with children it is just most have never seen children before. Greyhounds learn to tolerate living with children and can become great companions. There are some Greyhounds that will not do well with children. Through our foster program the Greyhounds are socialized with children. Children under 14 years should not walk a Greyhound without an adult because of their size and strength. Also the children have to have the understanding that gates need to be kept closed and that they must respect Greyhounds space.
