I am not sure about more ways to get her the Vitamin D, but let me just say GOOD FOR YOU! My son had this same problem, and I just couldn’t do it. I did for about 6 weeks, and then couldn’t take it anymore. Seriously, you should be very proud of yourself for continuing to breastfeed. As someone who has been in your shoes, I know it is hard!

I went dairy free for six months for the same reason. If you are taking vitamins and are in the sun {even in the car counts} then you should be fine. I would try mixing the vitamin D in a bottle of expressed breast milk. I never gave Aaron them so I don’t know too much about it. Every few weeks try eating a little dairy and seeing how she handles it. Thats what I did and now I can eat full dairy again. It’s been nearly 11 months of EBFing but those six months of dairy free were the hardest. Your doing good mama!

Vitamin D also comes from the sun. 15 minutes a day is usually enough for the day. I live in Canada, so I know all about the winter weather. Napping near a window works. Even when cloudy the sun does get through the clouds…otherwise it’d be dark when cloudy. If you take her outside, avoid the 11am-2pm since that’s when the sun is at it’s strongest.
