Maybe nicotine is more common and addictive, but heroin is close behind. Do not underestimate the addicting powers of heroin! Heroin is worse for you, too. I have seen people withdraw from heroin, and yes, it is painful and agonizing, but if they get into narcotics anonymous or AA, and are willing to get sober, they can have a blessed life. On the other hand, there is just something about cigarettes that people have the hardest time quiting. It is legal, and easily available. I saw my grandfather hacking his brains out at 82 with emphysema, and still puffing on a cigarette.
