What is ibuprofen used for?
• Ibuprofen is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is used to reduce fever and treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as headache, toothache, backache, minor pain of arthritis arthritis, menstrual cramps, or minor injury. How should you take this medication? • Take this medication by mouth with a full glass of water. It may be taken with food if it upsets your stomach. Taking it with food may not lower the risk of stomach or bowel problems. • If you miss a dose of Ibuprofen and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Go back to your regular dosing schedule. General Precautions with Ibuprofen • Tell your health care professional if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to any of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. • Ibuprofen may cause dizziness or drowsiness.
