My friends Toyota Tundra 4×4 squeaks (the tires) hard when in 4×4 and makes U-turn, locked differential?
Since his Tundra is a ’05 its doesn’t have manual locking hubs. The hubs are connected to the axles full time. The front differential never gets disconnected, just the hubs on older 4X4 set ups. The transfer case is was disconnected and connects the front drive train and changes gearing for high and low settings. The transfer case splits the engines power to front and rear wheels. The grip of the tires makes the squealing/chatter noise, but like stated earlier please don’t use 4X4 on dry pavement or when you have good traction. You can bind or brake the internal gears on the transfer case.
