Where did mothers day come from?
Well, it started with a lady named Anna Jarvis. She talked to the church that her mother attended and asked them to set aside a special day in honor of her mother. She had just died. The church set aside the second Sunday in May. Ms. Jarvis received lots of support for her idea and it spread like wildfire! On May 9, 1914, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed Mother’s Day as a national holiday. On that official day, people were moved to celebrate their mothers. Most people decide to give Mother’s Day flowers! Mother’s Day flowers are a symbol of love and honor toward mothers for their unending support of their children. So what should you buy?
