Stateless person?
Wow. That sounds like me. I’m a 3rd generation Chinese immigrant born in Brunei, living in Australia and I hold permanent resident status in Brunei and Australia. My solution, which I don’t know if applicable for you, is pretty much to apply for citizenship in my country of choice. In Australia, one simply has to be a skilled migrant (fulfill a points test), stay in the country lawfully and contribute to the economy for several years, and then apply for citizenship. One may have to complete an english test (I’m not sure of that has been introduced) and seriously have a commitment to making the place one’s home. Other than that, it’s that simple. I’m in the process of living my years here before applying for citizenship. There should be procedures on how to become a citizen in the United states and in Taiwan too, not limited to being born in the country itself. I know that in Europe, one would need to live there for a decade or so before becoming eligible, but there is always a way. Do
