Ulan Bator, or Ulaanbaatar, is the capital of Mongolia. Ulan Bator has had numerous names in its history. From 16391706 it was known as rg (palace yurt) and from 17061911 as Khree (camp), later as Ikh or Da Khree (great camp). Its Chinese name was Kulun.
