It’s 16 to purchase alcohol in Italy, though there’s no age limit for drinking it “There is no law stating a limit of age for drinking any kind of alcoholic drink, art 689 Codice Penale forbid serving alcoholic drinks to minor of 16 in public places like restaurants, pubs, etc.

I’m Italian and in Italy we have not drinking age law like you guys have here in United States.

Drinking is allowed from infancy. What is restricted is the intake of alcoholic beverages and its sale to minors.

The legal drinking age to drink in public and to purchase alcohol is 16. Most European countries are 16 or 18.
