What is a Griefer?
People who enjoy giving grief to others for their own entertainment. They like to annoy the hell out of others avatars and are basically considered anti-social people, or at least socially inept. Common “griefing” activates are people who like to run people over with their vehicles, or shooting them with a paintgun. They end up getting tossed and kicked around the whole area (granted it’s rather funny to see). So use your forcefield to avoid getting smacked around by these jerks. Other griefers will join conversations, with obnoxious looking body look sets, and/or clothing (or lack clothing) and cuss and swear profusely, act racists, prejudice, or sexually harassing others. Be warned: You CAN get your avatar suspended if you’re a chronic griefer.
A griefer is an online gamer who participates in games with the sole goal of disrupting the gaming experience for others. Griefers and their actions can take a wide variety of forms, and they are a source of frustration for many legitimate gamers. In response, many administrators attempt to ban or otherwise penalize griefers whenever possible, so that they do not ruin the fun for others. On occasion, the term “griefer” is also used to describe disruptive individuals in the real world. While some people use the term “griefer” more generically to describe anyone who causes grief or disruption in an online game, most people use the term specifically to refer to people who do so deliberately, taking pleasure from their actions and consequences.
