What is CIC?
The Canadian International College is a branch of the Canadian Cape Breton University, CBU. CIC offers CBU programs and curriculum. The management, faculty and textbooks are all overseen by CBU who perform several inspections each year. In addition, the Canadian Academic Vice President at CIC is responsible for quality control of all CBU programs. The Canadian credentials earned by CIC students, whether they be diplomas or degrees, are CBU credentials, and they are conferred by CBU.
CIC stands for “computer-integrated courses.” CIC is an English-department program committed to the idea that technology–especially computers–can facilitate the teaching of humanities courses. Our classes are held in specially adapted classrooms, designed by experienced instructors, and incorporate a range of technologies, from networked computers and projection screens to discussion, peer review, and Web authoring software.
