Whats a K-State eID and what does it provide?
Every K-Stater is assigned an eID, or “electronic identification” that allows them to access information technology resources at K-State, including: • KATS student information system • K-State Online • HRIS Employee Self Service • campus dial-in services • WebMail web-based e-mail • antivirus software download from antivirus.k-state.edu • the KSU Libraries’ databases and e-journals (needed for off-campus access) • central e-mail, including any POP/IMAP client that uses central e-mail • the university computing labs and Hale 24-hour study area • Samba file-sharing service • web publishing on the central web server (www.k-state.edu) • web publishing your personal webpage (at www-personal.k-state.edu) • student online elections (Student Governing Association) • VPN service • the university’s Calendar/Scheduler system The following resources are NOT affected, but you should also change passwords for these systems on a regular basis: • departmental computing resources • LANs (Local Area Net
