Do not know about Scotland but in England the Children and Young Person Act 1933 applies. Quite complicated but basically you cannot work until you are 13 and even then work is restricted while you are at school, but the restrictions depend on local council bye-laws. Check with your local council youth services, they should be able to advise you.
