A multi-viscosity graded oil, usually described as “multigrade”, meets the low-temperature viscosity and borderline pumping temperature requirements for one of the W grades and has a viscosity at 100C within the specified range of one of the non-W classifications. For example, an oil meeting the 10W and 30 grade requirements is referred to as an SAE 10W/30 oil.
