Dots Per Inch. DPI is a measurement of printer resolution that defines how many dots of ink are placed on the page when the image is printed. The higher the resolution, the clearer your image will be.

“DPI” is short for “Discount Photographic Imagination.” Our founders initially created this fun play on words to express our goals (i.e., “dpi” or “dots per inch” is the resolution of digital images). Discount Photographic Imagination is a bit of a mouthful, though, so we prefer just “DPI”!
