Each school’s ROTC department will have some variations. In general, if you are not “on contract” or obligated to serve, the rules are very loose. If you are on scholarship or a military contract, you will be expected to maintain a military appearance and standards. Most schools say you wear a uniform to ROTC class (this may be once or twice a week). If you are in uniform, you are expected to meet haircut and shaving standards. Contracted students will have periodic PT. If you are passing without a problem, you may not be required to do scheduled PT or you may be leading it. It can be fun It can be demanding. It is an additional time commitment. Prepare by doing some running and exercises.
