What does H-1 mean?
This is a USDA designation that classifies lubricants to be used in applications where incidental food contact may occur. Lubricants that are used “above the table” in the food, feed and drink industries must meet the H-1 standard. Recently, the USDA has halted ceased testing new products for H-1 status. The USDA policy is that H-1 conformance is left to the user and supplier.
