Yes. Panama knows poverty and richness and often the division is sharp. But overall Panamanians are very warm hearted and have a welcoming approach towards foreign tourists and residents. This makes Panama a very safe country whether you are in a small country village or in the metropolitan Panama City. There is barely any violent crime, with exceptions in some avoidable areas in the cities of Colon and Panama City.
