How to take care of a newborn baby chick?
Clean bedding, warmth, clean water, and chick start. But most of all a listening ear to peeps. When they peep they need to know someone is there to listen. Peep, peep, peeping back will let them know they are not alone in the world and that all is well even if you dont pick them up just knowing there is another in the room helps, but sometimes soft peeping and a warm hand that will pick them up to cradle them, a soft cloth and covering when it is time to sleep will let them know they are not alone. Chicks are very simple animals and can eat solids as soon as they are born, but they like all birds are flock animals and need to know they are not alone.
baby chickens and ducks, unlike parrots and other birds, can eat solids right after hatching. Make sure you feed it feed for young chicks and provide water. Make sure the chick has housing and bedding, and possibly even a heat lamp, depending on where you are keeping it. I only suggest raising chickens if you live on a farm or ducks if you live on a lake/pond. I disagree with getting chicks and ducklings for the sake of easter. They may be cute now, but they grow, become messy, and are a big responsibility.
