What is the “sash” system of ranking?
Similar to a belt system, the sash system uses colored sashes to indicate the highest level that a student has promoted to. However, the vast majority of Bak Fu Pai is taught without regard to a student’s rank, the material being as applicable to a black sash as it is to a beginner. Emphasis is placed on continual refinement and improvement of control and technique.
