The ResNet Network Rules to which I agreed mentions a bandwidth limit. What is “bandwidth”?
The term “bandwidth” refers to the amount of uploading and downloading of data that can be done across a particular medium, in this case, the Rutgers network. You are allowed to download 4096 MB of data and upload 2048 MB of data per seven day period. Exceeding the bandwidth limit will result in your IP being restricted to Rutgers space only for 1-7 days. Please see section 2 D for more information on the 7-day sliding window and how the 1-7 day restriction works. Please note that this restriction is only applied to the computer registered on the ResNet network – students are still able to access outside networks via other computing resources available at the University (RUWireless, computer labs, etc.).
