How does Sniffer deal with newsletters?

Newsletters that are published via gray hosting services, or that contain heavy advertising added by gray hosting services will generally be tagged by group 60. Some systems prefer to block this rule group, or to reduce it’s weight in their system. This is why we separate it from the other rules 😉 Generally the policy for content matching group 60 is that we “block first, white-list later”. If you have a false positive from a newsletter, please submit it to false@armresearch.com as specified in the guidelines. If we research it and feel confident that the newsletter is managed well and is otherwise “safe” then we may create a core white rule to mitigate group 60 rules so that the newsletter can pass. (For example, subscription news feeds from national services etc…) In any case, we offer you the ability to create a white rule in your rulebase for ANY content you wish – so you get to decide what is a good, or not-good newsletter and in either case how you would like to handle it – (
