Any household product that contains mercury is considered a mercury device. Some of the more common mercury devices include thermostats (non-electrical), thermometers and mercury switches. Since there are so many different products that may contain mercury, examining an electronic product label before you throw it away is recommended. If a product is labeled as a mercury device, we urge you to take the product to a recycling center rather than deposing of it in the curbside trash.
