How many batteries are there?
What kind of batteries are they? Gel Cell, deep-cycle zero-maintenance batteries. 12 volt, 80 amp, 98 amp hour, 70.5 lbs each. Dimensions: 13″ long, 6.75″ deep, 9.5″ tall. Where are the batteries? Sedan: 3 batteries center console between the seats, and 3 under rear seat. All batteries are easily accessible. PK: The batteries are located underneath the truck bed and easily accessible. What about solar charging? There is a custom solar panel kit available from Zap for either vehicle. This panel charges the battery pack directly at 72V and up to 150 Watts. It contains a blocking diode to prevent discharging batteries when there is no output from the panel. The energy gained on a day with full sun and full exposure is equivalent to about 5 miles range. BUT, as the solar panel keeps the battery pack active and warm, it can double the life of the batteries.
