How do I know if my guinea pig is pregnant?
You have not mentioned how long they have been housed together as females come into season every 17 days and this lasts for around 48hrs so if they have not been together too long she may be lucky. Separate her from the male which i am sure you will have already done. It is almost impossible to tell if she will be pregnant or not at first and as she is new you will not be familiar with any change in her behavior or routine. The only way i can advise is by playing the waiting game, guinea pig pregnancy last for 10 wk (give or take a few days). 1/ So mark on a calendar the day that your pigs where put together and calculate the ten week. 2/ Pregnant females take on a VERY noticeable pear shaped appearance as the babies grow. 3/ Weigh her weekly to see if she is putting on alot of weight and record the weight. 4/ About 6wk into the pregnancy if you gently take her and place her on a cushion on your lap with your hands under her sides then you should be able to feel the movement of the bab
