Joe Biden, the Delaware Democrat who could end up chairing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Biden, currently the committee’s ranking Democrat, is “often wrong but never in doubt,” the RNC said in a “research” brief (also known as “talking points). First, the RNC is reminding Americans that Sen. Biden opposes John Bolton’s confirmation as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Because of Democratic opposition, Bolton got the job — temporarily — through a recess appointment. Washington – Democrat Barack Obama offered tantalising hints about his vice presidential pick, describing the nominee as independent, ready to be president and strong on the economy. Even as he refused to disclose the name, he heaped new criticism on Republican rival John McCain in a push to blunt attacks that have narrowed his lead in the polls. Obama branded the Republican as rich, out-of-touch with voters and touting inflated foreign policy credentials as the race to the November 4 elections turned increasingly nasty.
