Beginning July 1, 2007, all participants must complete within the first 2 years of participation, a multi-day training, a one unit course specific to the Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS/ITERS/FCCERS/SACCERS), or have learned the ERS at that childcare site. Participants must then complete a self-evaluation on their childcare program and complete a self-improvement plan and make the improvements. Proof of qualified training (transcript for the 1 unit course, a certificate from the training, or a letter from your director indicating the date the training was offered at your childcare program) must be submitted along with a copy of your self-assessment score sheet, your improvement plan and proof of the improvements made. More information about this requirement will be mailed to all participants in the Permit and Degree Track that have participated in CARES for at least one year.
