How are intensive industries regulated?
The intensive production of livestock is regulated in South Australia through the provision of National Model Codes of Practice. The Model Codes of Practice for the Welfare of Livestock are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure the standards they contain are contemporary and scientifically valid. In South Australia these Codes are regulated to provide them with the weight of law.
