Sir, I am doing my PhD in Microbiology, am i eligible to apply for PhD fellowship? Is it necessary to work on language in my PhD?
You are eligible to apply for Ph.D fellowships. You need not work on language but can take up research in your own subject. The only condition is that if you are applying for fellowship under Tamilnadu category, you should have studied Tamil at least up to +2 level incase you are from Technical areas, and upto degree level incase you are from Arts & Science areas. It is necessary that you should have a component on evaluation in your dissertation. Further details required will be provided in due course if you are selected by the committee for the fellowship.
