What is Cooperative Education?
Cooperative education combines academic studies with practical work experience designed to enhance a student’s professional development. In a co-op experience, students alternate semesters of full-time study with full-time work in positions related to their major. Most students are eligible to interview for a co-op job during their third semester of full-time study. Cooperative education is open to all students in the School of Business Administration and the College of Arts and Sciences. Full-time undergraduate students from the following departments in the School of Engineering have the option of participating in the cooperative education program: chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer engineering technology, electrical engineering, electronic engineering technology, industrial engineering technology, manufacturing engineering technology, mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology.
