Mesothelioma also called asbestos lung cancer and is a specific form of cancer. Asbestos lung cancer can only be caused by exposure to asbestos. This is a fairly rare form of lung cancer that effects the mesothelial cells. These mesothelial cells are the tissue that line and surround the lungs, stomach and the heart. When these cells are infected by anything a tumor is created. If the tumor is cancerous this is known as mesothelioma.
