The Village does not levy a village property tax. If you live in the Village of Cherry Valley, you will receive a property tax bill. It will include taxes due for Winnebago County, Rockford School District 205, the Cherry Valley Library, the Cherry Valley Fire Protection District, the Rockford Park District (not all properties) and the Rockford Airport. However, Cherry Valley is able to support services such as policing and public works from the sales tax generated mostly by the CherryVale Mall. Additionally, you cannot pay your taxes at the village hall, you must go to the Winnebago County Treasurer’s office.
