What is the label max Havelaar?
Max Havelaar is the principal label of fair trade in Europe. It offers pragmatic and concretes solution for the negative aspects of globalisation. It contributes to the introduction of a transparent economy, which takes in count the values of human and durable development. The organization of world trade (fluctuating courses, pressure of the intermediaries…) penalizes the small producers and the workers, and hardly allows them to survive. The label is granted only the products which answer the international standards of far trade on the conditions of production and of marketing. It offers the guarantee that the producers receive a decent price for their harvest and that the farm labourers work in correct conditions.
