Is there a cost to use BioSense?
There is no cost to view data in the BioSense application for state and local public health department authorized staff and authorized staff at the healthcare facilities that are transmitting data to BioSense. To view the application, you will need get approval from your public health or hospital-based BioSense administrator and then apply for a digital certificate. The application is viewed only by authorized users through a secure internet site. Data will not be purchased or licensed on a transaction-by-transaction basis. However, funding is available to support healthcare organizations in their efforts to contribute data to public health. Our intent is to work with data sources to help remove barriers to participation, including financial barriers. Funding has been allocated for start-up and initial support.
