What is the Willett Open House?
A. The Open House takes place in April. The evening opens with welcoming comments from our principal and introduction of the Willett staff. A brief general meeting of the PTA follows in which next year’s budget is voted for approval. Everyone then disperses to the classrooms and the students take over. On Back-to-School Night you heard from the teachers about what they had planned for the year. At Open House the kids have the opportunity to show you what they’ve accomplished. They put a lot of effort into preparing for the evening and their enthusiasm is palpable! After visiting the classrooms, stop in the MPR and browse the 6th grade science projects, and take a few minutes to look over the 5th grade science posters in the quad. Check out the quality of science these kids are doing. Open House is also a good time to begin preparing for next year, especially if you have an incoming kindergartner. You can meet the teachers, roam the classrooms, and get an idea of the learning your child
