What Is Augmentation Mammaplasty?
Augmentation Mammaplasty is an enhancement of the size of the breasts. This surgery is performed in an outpatient facility, Aesthetic Operative Suite. Aesthetic Operative Suite is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. Small incisions are used to place and implant beneath the breasts. There are various surgical approaches that can be used and these are discussed in detail during your consult with Dr. Dawkins. Mammograms and photographs are taken before surgery. After surgery, the patient is usually able to return to work full time within one week. Augmentation Mammaplasty does not increase or decrease the chances of having breast cancer.
