What happens if an enemy empire overruns a continent?
If an Empire controls every facility on a continent, it will have a continent lock. Under this condition, the warp gates on that continent will become closed to the opposing empires. The only way those Empires will be able to gain entry to the continent is through the HART dropship. Because of this, enemies will be at a substantial disadvantage, as they will not be able to bring vehicles like the AMS with them as they attack facilities to unlock the continent.
