What is the difference between a King salmon and a Sockeye salmon?

A Sockeye is a King that lost the fight… 🙂 They are two different types of salmon… kinda like a channel cat and a blue cat. Same general species but different animals… By the way ideratherbefishin is a little off. like 4000 miles off… King salmon are a Pacific breed, ever heard of King salmon fishing in the Kenai in ALSAKA… ( pssst… Alaska is on the WEST coast dude…) last time I checked the only salmon in the Atlantic were Atlantic salmon… If you want salmon go for the pacific.
