How can my friend join the Army?

The best thing for him to do is talk to a recruiter. The military is getting…as my boyfriend put it “Overrun with people because the economy is so bad- So it’s getting harder and harder to get in and stay in.” He’s in the Navy…so maybe your friend could join another branch that is in need of people…like i said talk to a recruiter. Good luck!

If he has a GED there are two new stipulations currently out. First he’s going to have to get a 50 or higher on the ASVAB, and second he may not get any moral waiver at all. This means he’s never been arrested for any serious crime. Another issue is that as a GED, and being below 20 years of age, he may not obtain a Special Forces contract from the recruiting station. He’ll have to go into the Army, then submit a request for SFAS once in for a while. This is a better route anyway I can promise you that. As far as the no address thing, doesn’t matter. As long as he’s 18, doesn’t have any law, and can get a 50 QT he can join.

I was thinking of joining, a friend told me to watch this. Opened my eyes to a lot of things. Please watch this for your friends sake, or get him to watch it. It takes a while to get round to the military, but is well worth the wait. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo9zHkv8u… Also check out GI Resistance, who is a movement of military vets talking about their experience in Iraq. Just type GI Resistance on youtube.
