No, you’ll have to mail them. You can only efile for the current year. The rule for head of household doesn’t say you can file that way if you don’t live with your spouse for more than half the year. It says you can file as head of household if you didn’t live with your spouse at any time during the second half of the year, AND you pay more than half of the expenses of keeping up a home for your child. The government only pays interest if they don’t send your refund within 45 days of receiving your return. They do NOT pay interest on refunds you haven’t filed for.
