How big are the Paralympic Games?
The Paralympic Summer and Winter Games are the largest multi-sport event for athletes with physical disabilities. Summer Games comprise approximately 4000 athletes and 3500 officials from 150+ registered countries competing in 20 sports. The next Summer Games will be held in Beijing, China, from September 6th to 17th, 2008. Winter Games include participants from 40 countries, featuring 600 competitors in 5 sports, supported by approximately 500 team officials. The next Paralympic Winter Games will be in held in Vancouver, British-Colombia from March 12th to 21st, 2010.
