Can I cancel a Payment arrangement to get a debt validated?

Since you made arrangements to pay the debt you have acknowledged the debt so it would be shown as validated by your agreement to make payments If you made the arrangements in writing there is nothing you can do now, it is too late. If you talked to them on the phone, they no doubt recorded the conversation which is also proof of validation for them. Debt validation letters are used BEFORE any payment agreements are made. They are used to make sure that the debt is a valid one and collectible. If you stop payments, they can then seek legal action and file for a writ of garnishment. Also making arrangements re-sets your states Statute of Limitations. Sorry to bear the bad news.
