A university “Blue” is presented to a select number of athletes from Auckland University at the annual awards dinner. This tradition is derived from the awarding of “Blues” at Oxford and Cambridge universities. For a hockey player to qualify for the award, they must play for AUHC, and represent Auckland at U21 level or above (or equivalent level).
