Negotiated learning accommodates independent study (IS) and work based learning (WBL) approaches to study, but not all IS and WBL is negotiated. In negotiated models students are supported in the process of designing a module linked to their role profile where applicable, devising aims, learning outcomes, content and the agreed assessment task.
