We gather and verify the following information: • Current valid business license • Appropriate business liability insurance • Verify that there are no current legal actions pending • Verify that there are no pending state violations • Verify employee hiring/training/ procedures including appropriate background checks/screenings • Reference checks of at least three professional entities that currently refer to the business If the business is an assisted living facility, nursing home, rehab, adult day center, independent senior housing, or any type of service where a senior would ‘attend’ outside of his or her home, we also tour the facility prior to extending the offer of certification.
