The purpose of purchasing an orb is to colorize your Display Name, which will take effect in the Gold Menu (if you are top 5), forum posts and in comments posts. In order for it to take affect, after you have purchased your orb, go into your Inventory, which can also be found on the left menu and “wield” the orb you want to associate with.
