What is kirsch?

German for cherry is “kirsch” and for water is “wasser”. White brandy or spirit is considered to be a true fruit brandy, not to be confused with sweetened brandies. One of the most famous Kirschwassers comes from the Black-Forest in Germany. The Less expensive Kirsch, is best suited for cooking, i.e., fondue, flaming whipped cream, fillings and Black Forest Cake. Save the most expensive brands for a digestive or serve it added to a cup of coffee.
